Located within the overwhelming concrete structure of an industrial building, the aim of the project was to design Olarra’s winery visitor’s center within its existing atrium space. Far from establishing any rivalry with its powerful setting, our proposal seeks to engage in a playful relationship with the existing structure while adding the smells and tastes of the world of Olarra’s excellent wines.

Formally, the atrium has a hexagonal shape, an aspect which has been reinforced by the new project. At ground level, the program includes a shopping area, a degustation space, and an exhibition space; a staircase located at the axis of it all link these spaces with the upper level under a glass surface composed of various glassed volumes which evoke the colors of wine and provide for a very unique light quality. At the upper level, a wine tasting area, a conference room and various office spaces are organized around the top of the above mentioned colorful glass volumes.
