TAPA – Soft Seating
Tapa designed by Mac Stopa for the Nowy Styl Group is a unique modular system of poufs featuring four levels of adjustable soft seating. According to the idea of modularity – one module consists of an “island” and movable poufs that rotate on a common pivot. The modules can be freely arranged and upholstered in different colours, which allows for creating unique furniture pieces in any interior.
Lovers of an eye-catching design and soft seats will not be disappointed by Nowy Styl Group’s offer in Tapa. The Tapa pouf covered with 95% wool warms a company’s image. It is also an intriguing colourful element that will spark a team’s creativity. The designers of the new sofa have taken care it is made using a high quality woollen upholstery fabric: the material, which is produced in New Zealand, has undergone very demanding tests for abrasion resistance and is dyed using a special technology that ensures long-lasting colour.
“My intention was to design a modular sitting system, which would not look like a piece of office furniture at first sight, but rather an architectural model or a sculpture. Tapa is a four-level pouf that can be compared to a puzzle based on geometric modularity. Its base has a shape of an organic rhombus that consists of four circles. What’s more interesting is that the other levels can be moved and placed on neighbouring poufs. By rotating particular elements, we obtain unique arrangements, especially when we have a few or even a dozen poufs. When we use several different colours, we can additionally achieve a visually pleasing collage of mixed shapes and hues. The modules are covered with woollen upholstery, which looks good on the curves and reflects the light smoothly, giving the pouf a cosier appearance. My inspiration was my general love for creating elements of industrial design based on the mathematical analysis of modularity and geometric forms.” – idea behind the Tapa system / Mac Stopa
By rotating the levels, the seating configuration can be easily adjusted in accordance with the user’s needs. Considering that no less than 80% of the most valuable work interactions are informal, and that contemporary offices need space where employees can hold spontaneous meetings in small groups, Tapa is the go-to solution for the modern office. Available in a variety of colors, this unique product perfectly combines a striking look with clever functionality.
Nowy Styl Group:
Contemporary offices need places with an informal atmosphere where employees are able to hold spontaneous meetings in small groups. This demanding challenge is met by Tapa – a system of pouffes designed by Przemysław Mac Stopa. This unique product perfectly combines a striking look with clever functionality. Tapa is a modular solution whose basic element is an “island” consisting of mobile poufs that turn on a pivot.
Ingenious in its simplicity, this solution ensures different arrangement possibilities in one space using the same modules. The line is complemented with freestanding poufs whose shape reflects the upper and third level of the basic modular unit. To fully enjoy the possibilities offered by the system, you just have to use your imagination and… move the pouffes!
